Yoon & Yang LLC has advised Korean Air on its two Boeing 787-9 aircrafts financing transaction from MUFG Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. The deal has been recognized as the “Best Sustainability-Linked Loan – Airline” at The Asset Triple A Sustainable Finance Awards 2025.

This transaction marks the first sustainability-linked loan (SLL) in Korea’s aviation industry, where interest rates are tied to sustainability and ESG performance metrics – a growing trend in global finance. Through this financing, Korean Air has successfully acquired two Boeing 787-9 aircrafts, enhancing fuel efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to sustainable ESG management.

Leveraging its expertise in aviation finance and the airline industry, Yoon & Yang provided contact review and financial structuring advice to Korean Air.
