Yoon & Yang LLC successfully represented Microsoft Corporation since 2013 in the KFTC’s 22-month merger review investigation and the subsequent approval on its acquisition of Nokia’s mobile device and service businesses. In this case, Yoon & Yang filed for a consent decree, which was finally approved by the KFTC in August 2015, setting a precedent of an antitrust case where a consent decree system was applied to a merger review case for the first time.

Acknowledging the firm’s successful and innovative solution to this merger review case, Yoon & Yang was selected as the winner of the “Merger control matter of the year – Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa” at the GCR Awards 2016 held by Global Competition Review on April 5, 2016 in Washington, DC (USA).
